Courtney Talley, Veterinary Assistant
Courtney was raised in Rabun County for all of her life until moving to Habersham to help open Cornerstone Animal Hospital. She graduated from Rabun County High School in 2008 and then attended North Georgia College and State University for one year before transferring to North Georgia Technical College. From there, she graduated in 2011 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from the Clinical Laboratory Program.
While still in high school, Courtney started working at Rabun Animal Hospital in 2005 and continued part-time work there throughout college. In 2011, she took a full-time job at the Animal Wellness Hospital of Highlands. She worked there until deciding to make the move to Habersham County to help open Cornerstone Animal Hospital alongside Dr. Emily Allison. At home, she has a black Labrador named Joe and a cat named Monique. Courtney has a strong passion for helping animals big and small. She could not imagine herself doing any other job and plans to continue to further her knowledge and help as many animals as she can.
Brittany Keener, Veterinary Assistant
Brittany grew up in Forsyth county and graduated from North Forsyth High School in 2010. She then moved to Rabun Gap, GA and began working at Rabun Animal Hospital shortly after, where she first met Dr. Emily and Courtney and worked with them both for several years, up until summer 2016. She moved to Gillsville, GA in August 2016 with her fiancé Austin, and began working at Hope Animal Medical Center in Athens, GA. Although she loved her job in Athens, Cornerstone has been calling her name since it had first opened, as farm animals and livestock are her main passion. Brittany then began working at Cornerstone in early June of 2017. She is currently completing online classes through Penn Foster to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Brittany enjoys doing almost anything outdoors. She is an avid hunter and fisherman, and has the yearning to be a (small-scale) farmer. She has four dogs, Reece (AKA Reecey Cakes) and Bucket who both descend from the Heinz 57 mix, and two German Jagd Terriers, Ziggy and Axel. She has three Quarter horses, Woody, illa, and Dunny. She also has a miniature Dexter cow, Porkchop. One day, Brittany is determined to have a whole herd of miniature cattle, and add chickens and fowl to the mix as well.
